Dept. of Tourism & Japanese has a goal to train professionals who efficiently implement tasks required in tourism industry by leaning theory and practice of tourism works to develop excellent talents who enhance national competitiveness of the Korean tourism industry and lead the future of Korea tourism in the global generation. Through an exchange program with Kyushu Institute of Information Sciences and Yamaguchi Junior College, we offer opportunities for international students exchange program, implement language study abroad (Japan) and field training, overseas internships with governmental support and acquiring certification as tour conduct (T/C). Dept. of Tourism & Japanese which is the model department and the best department of the social practice section in national community college evaluation has been training differentiated and specialized professionals by adopting educational curriculum based on NCS.

Established as the first ‘Dept. of Traditional Cooking’ in Korea in 1988a and renamed as ‘Dept. of Tourism Food Service Cuisine’, we have expanded the focus of education by strengthening personality development and field-centered, practical cooking trainings. It has been built up the education infrastructure by our faculty composed of specialists in each field such as cooking, baking, breadmaking, wine food styling, industry field training and a specialized course of study. Our students acquire certificates such as a certificate of cooking technician, a certificate of food sanitation manager, etc. and they are granted a tourism cooking associate degree and a practical teacher’s license at the time of graduation. It trains the best chefs and specialists who are able to work in cooking-related educational institutes, food service industry, etc.

Food Service was the new department created as traditional cooking department for the first time in Korea in 1988 and has trained and produced professional chef who can contribute to the development of food cultural industry through the harmonizing personality education and cooking practice training. This department opened hands-on curriculum such as cooking, baking & confectionary, wine and food styling, and provides the practical skill and ability-enhanced education & training in the state-of-art cooking workshop. Students will acquire the specialty bachelor's degree of tourism cooking and license of practical test straight after graduation, will acquire the license of cook technician, food hygienist, etc and graduated from this department can join in hotel cooking-related educational facilities, food service industry, etc.

In an effort to create leaders who will enter hotel & resort industry as professionals, Dept. of Hotel & Resort Management trains students to develop qualities as private diplomats of tourism industry capable of responding to rapidly changing global management order by providing both general education such as room, food and beverage, cooking, management and maintenance service as well as relevant language skills. It educates both theory and practice of tourism products and hotel & resort business. In particular, this department breaks from theory-centered education and strengthens language skills of students so that they are capable of serving foreign tourists by breaking and possess service spirits by improving practical function such as rooms, restaurants, cooking, etc.

Dept. of Digital Culture Contents trains students to be the best domestic contents professionals with the vision of admission, education and employment(transfer). Our stduents take on jobs in culture contents planning and production, web development, game, 3D modelling, animation, stereoscopic image, special effects and broadcasting contents production. We enable this through education for employment in industries and training creative human resources who have both one man one specialty and IT+CT. Through various governmental fund supports, the department expands opportunities for scholarships, industry-contact type intensive education and field practice experiences and it is possible to transfer to Kangwon National University and Hallym University without a test.

Dept. of Internet Business runs curriculum that is suitable for students by analyzing major jobs with industry professionals for a goal of training ‘Internet-based IT specialists’ based on the internet who have both a fundamental theory and practical skills that would lead the internet business generation in the 21st century. The department trains e-business masters who have insights into paradigm changes in e-business as digital economy emerges and in particular and systematically and intensively educating IT and especially web-related skills.

“At the core of smart generation!” Dept. of Information & Communication Network is an attractive department that enables students opportunities to enter to broad Information and communication fields by providing field-centered, practical education that is suitable for each student such as establishment of information and communication technology based on communication network, computer network OS and server, management and maintenance of mobile communication, broadcasting communication, optical communication network, management of computer and all sorts of communication equipment and design and application of communication circuit.

The 21st century pursues the welfare society. Demands for welfare in each field are growing and necessity for social welfare professionals are increasing. Therefore, this department trains professionals who possess both theoretical knowledge and practical skills through field training linked with social welfare facilities. In addition, fulfilling demands of our community that increases everyday, it trains proficient child care teachers. Completing relevant curriculum subjects grant second-class social welfare worker and second-class child care teacher license without additional tests. Career outlook in the relevant specialized fields is promising.

There have been many changes in tax-related fields with the introduction of K-IFRS to existing business accounting standards corresponds international accounting standards by internationalization and globalization of corporate environments. Without expertises of tax accounting, satisfactory results in implementing account and tax tasks cannot be obtained. This department trains tax accounting specialists who have both theory and practice in the accounting and tax fields that the modern society requires to respond to this change by broad theories of general accounting and tax and field training linked with national schools.

Dept. of leisure sports was first established in 1999 and has been renamed into Dept of sports and leisure in 2015. The department trains professionals with a filed job-centered course of study through integrated and complex researches on various sports leisure activities. In particular, the department focuses on developing practical, field-centered talents by specializing a national qualification of a sports guide(life sports guide in the past) and an adolescent guide field(NCS applied). Ultimately, the department trains leading community-typed sports and leisure professionals who lead the intensive local strategic industry and healthtainment industry through an intensive major course in a four-year Bachelor’s degree.

This department trains child care teachers who can professionally educate infants, the future of the nation. In particular, it runs a three-year curriculum to produce proficient teachers who can respond to changes of the future society. Students acquire the second-class regular kindergarten teacher license and the second-class child care teacher license simultaneously at graduation without the need to pass tests by completing various major subjects, a course in teaching and liberal arts. In addition, it trains and produces child care teachers who can serve the role of a professional teacher by developing a moral view of teaching and efficient teaching and leaning methods through systemic education practice utilizing Hallym Kindergart Attached to Hallym Polytechnic University operating with the best facilities and programs.

Dept. of Public Administration is a comprehensive and general department of public administration where students study knowledge and skills necessary for public official in general service, police officer, fire officer, etc. or acquire certificates such as the state-sponsored test for licensing real estate agents, test for housing manager, certified judicial scrivener examination, etc. The department is a useful department that offer comprehensive curriculum composed of various subjects encompassing civil service examinations and certification examinations to equip students with specialized knowledge as well as general knowledge of life and the profession.

With the vision, “Training the best professional nurses with humanity and creativity in Korea”, Dept. of Nursing Science concentrates to train creative professional nurses with humanity, practical professional nurses practical at field and contribute to the global society. It offers four-year curriculum that cover great career opportunities and possibility of development since it trains demander-centered professionals through business and academic cooperation with six Hallym medical center-affiliated big hospitals that are equipped with the largest number of patient’s rooms and advanced medical system.

A physical therapist is a health and medical specialist who reduces patients’ pains and edema with their hands and makes them recover their physical function damaged by exercise. Dept. of Physical Therapy has six Hallym medical center-affiliated general hospitals and concentrates characterization and specialization by strengthening global abilities and field-centered education through MOU conclusion with Germany SLK hospital, Germany sports hospital, overseas hospitals and universities in Singapore, Australia, Japan, etc. under the growing goal, “Passion, No.1, Globalization”. In particular, it is the only department that students can attain both Master’s and Doctor’s degree as students graduating with a three-year Bachelor’s degree of from Dept. of Physical Therapy in Hallym University are given opportunity for major intensive course for Masters-Doctors combined (one-step) program offered by the same foundation of Graduate School of Hallym University.

Dept. of Radiological Science trains professional radiogical technologists who contribute to national health promotion through theory education, basic practice and clinical training of radiation therapy skill that is used with advanced medical devices and needs a high level of professional skills such as special graphy, computed tomography(CT), magnetic resonance imaging(MRI), sonography (SONO), nuclear medicine inspection technique(NMI), grants students a four-year Bachelor’s degree with intensive education through an intensive major course and additionally, trains global radiation professionals who continue study at a graduate school and thereby enhance their global competitiveness.

The health and environment industry is a future-oriented field that leads the 21st century that has received increasing national interest both qualitatively and quantitatively as the demand for health and environment increases. Since its establishment in 1995, Dept. of Health & Environment has trained specialists who have a field practice ability that is suitable for periodic flow and industrial demands until now. Graduates get a job in various fields such as environmental management including hygiene education, water quality, air, waste, sanitary management, public institutes including public officials through a course of study of practical skills.

Since 1984, Dept. of Food & Nutrition has been training the health and medical specialists, nutritionist. National Nutrition Management Act was declared on May 26th, 2010 set the foundation for setting the system for nutritionists and clinical nutritionists and new careers for clinical nutritionists who lead national health maintenance that the society requests in the future has been opened. Students move on to schools, hospitals, industries, social welfare facilities, health centers and pharmacies as a nutritionist to big food distributors and food service companies as a nutritionist, to food companies and food laboratories and as cooking practice teachers, etc.

Dept. of Medical Instrument & Medical Information Science was with the goal of enhancing the understanding of physical phenomena based on medical knowledge and contributing to medical and diagnostic treatment as well as life protection using advanced science technology. The need to train professionals with integrated skills has recently seen a dramatic increase in the medical and life industry. Therefore, it trains excellently integrated human resources in the medical instrument and medical information science fields by integrating medical engineering, medical informatics and basic medicine and specialized and characterized practice talents by cooperating with six foundation medical centers and medical device companies.

Although employment environment is becoming harsher, health and medical care industry continues to grow as health is an integral part of human society. Given such environment Dept. of Administration Duties with a tradition of 30 years trains professionals who implement hospital medicine and public health such as medical information management, financial accounting etc. It focuses on development of practical skills through its curriculum centered on improving expertises, field training by business and academic cooperation , etc. In addition, it has a very promising prospect with six Ilsong foundation hospitals in Chuncheon, Seoul, Dongtan, Pyeongchon, etc.

Dept. of Dental Hygiene produces dental hygienists suitable for the clinical field by developing their expertises and professional skills of dental disease prevention and dental hygiene management process by making a oral health center with the latest equipment for practice with a vision, “Training advanced dental hygienists who have job performance based on the dental hygiene process.” In particular, it offers a great advantage in developing practical skills through field training with six foundation hospitals and its career opportunities are promising in big hospitals and medical institutes.

Dept. of Architecture has a goal to train professional construction technicians with ability to apply the latest construction technique by practice-oriented construction education and develop creative modeling capacity to make our environment more pleasant and functional. The department prioritizes practice-centered education and field training education by our excellent faculty who have practical skills with the latest equipment and laboratory. The education offered are up to date with the expanding industry trend placing greater emphasis on general functioning of buildings according to economic development and improvement of living standards its career opportunities are very promising and broad.

Students explore field of advanced, comprehensive engineering in Civil engineering related to planning, designing, constructing and maintaining social overhead capital. Students learn broad and intensive knowledges of all construction engineering by specialized education activities regarding structural engineering, soil mechanics, basic engineering, hydraulics, hydrology, measurement study, construction material study, construction management study and prevention engineering. This department is a certified department that intensively trains high value culture planning, video for broadcasting, stereoscopic image, mobile video, animation, audio, lighting technique with governmental support, secures employers for students who want to be employed and was granted a national citation in a course of study of careers. In addition, it is the best department in the video contents production field that is certified by predicted data of national statistics by a course of study, practical classes, specialized education, etc. for employment and entrance to the broadcasting and movie production field.
